Wooden bowls last indefinitely when well taken care of. To maintain your bowl wash it with soap, warm water and a soft sponge. Dry it immediately after washing. Never soak the bowl in water or put it away wet. Wood is porous, and leaving it wet can cause it to split. If the bowl is used on a daily basis apply a thin layer of food safe mineral oil all over it using a soft cloth once a week, or less often if it’s only used on special occasions. If the wood is extremely dry, apply oil after each washing. Store the bowl away from windows or excess sunlight to avoid bleaching or drying out the wood.
Should your bowl get stained, try to remove the spot by cutting a lemon in half and sprinkling the cut portion with coarse sea salt. Scrub the stain with the lemon and salt, adding more salt as necessary. Rinse and dry the bowl. Coat it with food safe mineral oil.
